Terms & Conditions — Reconditioned Refrigerated Containers & Container Conversions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Richard Cooke Refrigeration Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and any purchase of goods or services, including reconditioned refrigerated containers, standard shipping containers, and container conversions.

By accessing our site or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

2. Product Information

2.1 All containers are sold used or reconditioned unless stated otherwise.

2.2 Reconditioned units may include cosmetic imperfections consistent with prior use.

2.3 Any images, descriptions, or specifications on our website are for guidance only. Actual units may vary in appearance, age, and condition.

2.4 Refrigerated containers (“reefers”) may have varying hours on the refrigeration unit; hours are provided in good faith but cannot be guaranteed.

3. Pricing & Quotations

3.1 All prices are subject to VAT unless explicitly stated otherwise.

3.2 Quotations are valid for 30 days from issue unless withdrawn earlier.

3.3 Prices may exclude delivery, cranage, electrical installation, or site preparation unless listed as included.

4. Ordering & Payment

4.1 Orders are not confirmed until payment terms have been met and written confirmation is issued by us.

4.2 Standard payment terms: 50% deposit on order, 50% prior to delivery.

4.3 We reserve the right to cancel or amend orders where required (e.g., stock availability, safety considerations, inability to deliver to site).

5. Delivery, Access & Site Requirements

5.1 Delivery dates are estimates only and may vary due to transport availability, weather, or unforeseen operational issues.

5.2 The customer is responsible for ensuring adequate access for delivery vehicles, including turning space and overhead clearance.

5.3 The customer must ensure the site is level, stable, and suitable for the container (e.g., concrete pads, railway sleepers).

5.4 If delivery cannot be completed due to inadequate access or site conditions, redelivery charges may apply.

6. Risk & Ownership

6.1 Risk passes to the customer upon delivery or collection.

6.2 Ownership transfers only once full payment has been received.

7. Refrigerated Containers (Reefers)

7.1 Used refrigeration units are supplied tested and verified operational at the time of dispatch, unless sold “as-is”.

7.2 Cooling performance may vary based on ambient conditions, power supply quality, and normal wear of components.

7.3 The customer is responsible for ensuring suitable electrical supply and protection (e.g., correct voltage, amperage, and breaker type).

7.4 We do not accept liability for spoilage of goods stored within the container.

8. Container Conversions

8.1 Converted containers (offices, workshops, storage units, bespoke builds) are produced according to agreed specifications.

8.2 Lead times may vary depending on complexity and material availability.

8.3 Any requested amendments after production has started may incur additional charges and may extend delivery dates.

9. Warranty

9.1 Used containers are sold without warranty unless a specific warranty is supplied in writing.

9.2 Refrigeration units may include a limited warranty on major components when explicitly provided.

9.3 Warranties do not cover misuse, inadequate power supply, failure to maintain the unit, or environmental conditions outside operational tolerance.

10. Returns & Cancellations

10.1 Custom-built or converted units are non-refundable.

10.2 Standard containers may be returnable at our discretion, subject to inspection and restocking fees.

10.3 Any return transport costs are the responsibility of the customer.

11. Liability

11.1 We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses including business interruption, loss of goods, or loss of profits.

11.2 Our total liability is capped at the value of the goods or services purchased.

11.3 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Website Use

12.1 All website content is provided “as is” and may change without notice.

12.2 Users must not misuse the site, introduce malware, or attempt unauthorised access.

12.3 Any links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for external content.

13. Data Protection

13.1 Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13.2 We do not sell or share your data with unrelated third parties.

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by UK law.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
